At around 06:55 AM on April 8, 2025, the Hosei Crown cargo vessel (Panama-flagged), en route from Chua Ve Port (Hai Phong) to the Philippines, collided with Vietnamese fishing boat TH 92686 TS. The collision occurred approximately 20 nautical miles south of Hai Phong fairway buoy No. 0 and 45 nautical miles northwest of Bach Long Vi Island.
The fishing vessel sank completely. Onboard were 12 fishermen:
- 4 lost their lives
- 8 were successfully rescued
